About the Tomita Young Artist Program
Finger Lakes Opera established its Young Artist Program in 2018 to feature up-and-coming musicians from the Finger Lakes region and beyond. The program provides exposure and opportunities for young singers to develop their careers.
FLO’s Young Artist Program is one of the company's most successful endeavors, with applications for the 4-week summer session increasing annually. In 2019, the number of applications increased by nearly 500%. Young Artists now receive weekly stipends, travel allowances, and housing, as well as performance opportunities beyond the summer session. This expansion has provided FLO the opportunity to bring opera to more people through community engagement events, such as performances at nursing homes, cafes, schools and more!
Pop-up concert will be Wednesday, August 2nd at 11:30am.
