Cobblestone unveils plans for a transformative wellness and community center

Cobblestone Arts Center is thrilled to announce plans for a state-of-the-art 95,000 sq. ft. Wellness and Recreation Center — a transformative project designed to enhance the lives of Farmington residents and the surrounding community.

Set to be built on land adjacent to the current Arts Center, the new facility will offer a wide range of recreational, educational, and wellness services, all aimed at supporting individuals and families in the region.

The Wellness and Recreation Center will include:

  • A state-of-the-art turf building and indoor track for sports and fitness activities

  • A preschool program focused on early childhood enrichment

  • Alternative medicine and mental health services to support holistic wellness

  • Childcare services to assist local families

  • A community library to inspire lifelong learning and connection

"This center represents a bold step toward enhancing the well-being of our community," said Lorene Benson, Executive Director of Cobblestone Arts Center. "We are excited to collaborate with our neighbors and bring this vision to life."

The project has already gained strong momentum, with a $2 million grant from philanthropist Tom Golisano. A proposal for further funding has been submitted to New York State’s Economic Development initiative, underscoring the project’s strong foundation and regional impact.

Cobblestone Arts Center is committed to ensuring that the Wellness and Recreation Center reflects the needs and dreams of the community it serves.
