A Surprise for a Longtime Friend: Honoring Robert Marvin

There are supporters who give, and others who truly invest in the spirit of a community. Last week, the Cobblestone Arts Center stage was the setting for a very special surprise as we gathered to honor one of our most dedicated advocates, Robert Marvin.

Surrounded by the very students whose lives he has touched, Robert was presented with a commemorative plaque by our Executive Director, Lorene Benson, and Director of Development, Shane Fackelman. It was a touching moment that reminded us all of the power of consistent, unwavering kindness.

Commitment in Action

Robert’s relationship with Cobblestone isn’t just measured in years, but in the smiles and successes of the individuals we serve. As a Commercial Real Estate Advisor, Robert has been a cornerstone of our major fundraisers and a loyal donor year after year. Whether he is sponsoring our annual Golf Tournament or providing the essential supplies to make our Chicken BBQ a success, his presence and commitment is a constant reminder that our mission has a true champion in the community.

The plaque presented to Robert captures the magnitude of his generosity:

"In recognition of your exceptional commitment to enriching the lives of more than 150 individuals with disabilities at Cobblestone Arts Center. Your collaborative efforts have played a vital role in delivering essential services across five counties, creating a lasting and meaningful impact. We sincerely appreciate your dedication and unwavering support."

Beyond the Sponsorship

While the quantifiable impact of this support—reaching across five counties to benefit over 150 students —is vast, the true magic of Cobblestone tends to happen in the small, everyday moments. It is found in the music classes, the production rehearsals, and the visual arts projects that Robert’s support helps make possible. Because of partners like him, our students have a vibrant space to break through stereotypes and feel empowered to celebrate their unique gifts.

To Robert: Thank you for being part of our momentum and believing in the "inner artist" in everyone. Most of all, thank you for being a cherished member of the Cobblestone family. We truly are better because of you!
